Navahi Music Festival Winds Up

TEHRAN The five-day Navahi Music Festival wound up in the city of Kerman on Sunday. Some 51 best performers were awarded in the closing ceremony of the festival.

The jury of the festival comprised Mohammadreza Darvishi, Hamidreza Ardalan, Sassan Fatemi and Dariush Pirniakan.

This year's Navahi Music Festival included seven competition sections.

Child and young adult performers of Navahi music were highly acclaimed by the audience at the festival.

According to the press headquarters of the festival, Mohammad Jahansaz, 6, the youngest performer at the festival won the acclaim of the audience at the 2nd Navahi Music Festival.

Jahansaz who performs dotar (a kind of traditional Iranian musical instrument) started to perform music at the age of 3.

When he took the stage, he performed in such a skilful way that the audience thought of him as a veteran performer. Jahansaz had previously performed a solo concert attended by President Seyed Mohammad Khatami.

He won the top prize (Golden Harp) of the Youth Music Festival last year.
